Wedmore Playing Fields gets £100,000 boost from Football Foundation

The six-figure sum comes from the UK’s largest sports charity, the Football Foundation. Football club to get artificial pitch

Ladybridge Football Club, whose players play on pitches off Tempest Road, Lostock, applied for permission to replace grass with a state-of-the-art 3G artificial pitch and erect a 2m security fence around it. Queens in bid for further 600k development at Palmerston

The club have applied for funding from an unnamed source to help pay for the creation of two indoor seven-a-side 3G pitches within the old supermarket. New changing facilities will also be part of the scheme that chairman Billy Hewitson hopes could start within three months. Dragon Park, in Newport international Sports Village, boasts two premium grade grass pitches and one third generation (3G) artificial pitch and a state-of-the-art headquarters building with changing rooms, training recovery zone and an administrative base for the Welsh Football Trust.
